Series 40Four — Post 3: 44 Books that have influenced my personal philosophy
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” – 2 Tim 2:15
December is my birth month. This year, 2018, marks the 44th year of my existence on this planet.
To commemorate this milestone, I will share 44 things about 30 subjects that have helped me in my life’s journey to this point. So, for the rest of the year, I will share on one subject each day.
These post will be part of a series I call “Series 40Four”.
Yesterday I shared 44 Quotes from the Most Important Book to me. You can read this article here.

Today’s post: 44 Books that have influenced my personal philosophy, is a curated list of books that I have read in full or in part, listened to the full version on Audible or the summary version on Blinkist.
I think, in today’s tech craze society, we have distractions and opportunities in almost equal measure. The opportunity and access to information are enormous and unparalleled by any age before our time. There is no excuse to stop learning and developing ourselves. Amazon has revolutionalised the way we access books, mobile Apps and devices have made it possible for us to carry an entire library of books in the palm of our hands.
I chose to drown the distractions from tech and social media and embrace the opportunities that they provide for learning and self-development. For as long as I can remember, my preference was for the classic hardcopy. However, eventually took the journey across the divide from the old school over to the new school of technology. Now I carry my entire library with me everywhere I go, on Audible and Kindle.
By no means, I have read all the books I list below. I mix my approach between reading on Kindle and listening to Audible depending on my mood and environment. The most important thing is that I can use every free time I have from commuting to flying and my morning meditation and learning routine to read or listen to a book.
There is no marketing link or promotion for any of the books or Kindle or Audible in this post. The goal of this post is to share a list of books that I have read, plan to read or books that I use as a reference in the subjects of faith, leadership development and transition, writing, speaking, sales, presenting and finance.
I hope you find a new book or two that you will find useful or ones that you have already read that you may be spurred to refresh your memories.
