“The secret of your success is hidden in your daily routine.” — Dr Mike Murdock

I have gone through a phase of slip up.

My exercise routines went down. I lost my motivation for waking up early. I found myself doing what I promised myself I would stop doing. And that is hitting the snooze button. I was slipping back into working late nights, slowly going into the cycle of late nights, late mornings.

Last night, I left the office at almost 22:00hrs — two hours past my curfew time. But strangely I did not feel tired. It felt like I could go another two hours. I did not have a choice. I had to stop.

As I left the office, I had this overwhelming feeling of disappointment. Have I failed? Probably yes.

At night before I went to bed, I made a recommitment to myself. I will wake you at 05:00hrs, will not hit the snooze button and I will get on my bike. So, I laid out my cycling shorts, cycling shoes and socks before I hit the sack.

05:00hrs I was up. I did not hit the snooze button. I put in 15 mins of exercise. And the favourite part of my routine? I listened to a video on YouTube while I prepare for work.

“How to Stay Motivated — Top 10 Principles” by Dr Wayne Dyer is a four-hour video. So, I certainly did not get to finish it. But I got up the third principle which got me thinking. Here it is…

“Don’t die with your music still in you” — Dr Wayne Dyer

I will keep trying. No matter how many times I fail, I will keep getting back up. I will give everything I have got. I will teach, I will keep writing, I will keep doing my best work.

I want to die empty. Leave it all here for posterity.

What about you? Please don’t die with your music, your book, and your talent still in you.
